Kobold Expedition Tools

Richard E. Byrd II

$750

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Kobold is making its commemorative timepiece available at an earth-shatteringly low introductory price.

The all-new Kobold Richard E. Byrd II timepiece features an iconic case designed by the late master watchmaker Gerd-Ruediger Lang. The case was invented in 1983 and consists of 19 individual components, including screw-locked lug bars and an iconic onion crown.

As one of the four Kobold founding fathers, Gerd-R. Lang was a true genius and the inventor of iconic watch case of which Kobold today possesses all of the original tooling, dies and technical drawings.

The Kobold Richard E. Byrd II is housed in a 40mm-version of Lang's case, which features a sapphire crystal in the front, as well as a sapphire crystal exhibition casebakc through which the Swiss-made ETA 2824 automatic-winding movement can be viewed.

The handmade luminous dial is available in the following colors: Deep Black, Arctic Blue and Copper. Luminous cathedral hands ensure perfect legibility even in poor lighting conditions.

The watch arrives on a canvas strap with signed, screw-locked  buckle, inside a Kobold leather watch pouch.

The watch is covered by a 2-year warranty against material defects and inferior workmanship.

The Kobold Richard E. Byrd II is available now and ships within 2 weeks from the time of order. An optional stainless steel bracelet is available on request.
