Apologies for all the delays

Dear Friends,

Over the last several months, Kobold has repeatedly delayed the delivery of a number of watch models. While we are now making progress on several fronts, shipping between 30 and 50 watches per week, we are still lagging behind in a few areas.

The Soarway Diver is now almost caught up with current orders. The Phantom and Arctic Diver/S-GMT models are following suit and we are gradually catching up.

What happened? Our efforts to relocated both our operations and manufacturing facilities to Merry Oaks Farm, our new headquarters in Amish Country, were hampered by a number of unexpected developments. We are now fully established and operational here, but only after a three-month-long battle against the odds. It would appear that Mr. Murphy is alive and well.

In addition, some models were delayed by supplier-related issues. While Kobold strives to produce as many components in-house as possible, we are still reliant on a number of key suppliers and have little or no control over the delays caused by them.

Lastly, our grand opening in late April and the ensuing media blitz further set us behind schedule.

However, we are now finally on track again and will resolve outstanding customer service issues swiftly and with resolve.

We fully understand how much inconvenience these delays have caused you. We therefore will be sending out tokens of our appreciation for your patience and understanding. These include a book by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, a $250 gift certificate towards the purchase of a new Kobold watch, as well as a surprise gift made in our workshops in Pennsylvania and Nepal.

Thank you very much for your support of our endeavors to re-establish the U.S. as a leader in watchmaking.
